Manual install

Install from a ZIP file

The package on this site is a ZIP archive, so it has to be loaded into your browser by hand. It takes under a minute.

    Download and unzip

    Unzip the file into a folder you will not delete later. The extension runs from that folder, so moving or removing it breaks the extension.

    Open the extensions page

    Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter. On Edge, use edge://extensions instead.

    Turn on developer mode

    Flip the developer mode switch in the top-right corner. Three extra buttons appear above the list.

    Load the unpacked extension

    Click "Load unpacked" and pick the folder you unzipped in step 1.

    You are done

    TranslateBuff now appears in the extensions list. Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin it for quicker access.

About the "Disable developer mode extensions" prompt

Extensions loaded this way make the browser show that prompt on every start. Dismiss it — it does not affect TranslateBuff. Installing from the browser's store instead avoids the prompt entirely.
