Terms and Conditions

This agreement governs your installation and use of the TranslateBuff browser extension and related website services.

This agreement also incorporates any service rules or operational notices we may publish from time to time. Once published, such content becomes an inseparable part of this agreement.

In case of conflict between this agreement and any service rules, this agreement prevails; matters not covered here are governed by the applicable service rules.

‘TranslateBuff’ or ‘the Service’ refers to the immersive AI translation browser extension and companion website operated by Yunnan Quiiu Technology Co., Ltd., including selection-based translation, immersive bilingual reading, and multi-model translation comparison.

‘Third-party model provider’ refers to the third-party AI model service providers we select and proxy in order to provide you with translation services.

‘Your content’ refers to any text or other content you submit or transmit through the Service, including source text you submit for translation.

‘Output’ refers to the translations generated by third-party model providers based on your content and returned to you through the Service.

TranslateBuff is a browser extension that provides AI translation features such as selection-based translation, immersive bilingual reading, and multi-model translation comparison.

The Service completes translations by proxying requests to third-party model providers through our own backend. You do not need to configure or connect directly to any third-party AI model API yourself.

Subject to your compliance with this agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service in accordance with this agreement and your subscribed plan, and to install and use the extension on devices you own or control.

All rights not expressly granted under this or other clauses of this agreement are reserved by us. Our failure to exercise any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.

You must not:

• Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service;
• Rent, lend, sell, sublicense, or distribute the Service;
• Use the Service for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose;
• Circumvent any usage limits or technical restrictions;
• Use the Service to develop a competing product or service;
• Access the Service through unauthorized automated means (such as bots or scrapers);
• Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other lawful rights of others;
• Upload or transmit any virus, malware, trojan, or other harmful code.

In addition to the restrictions in Section 5, you must not use the Service to:

• Generate or disseminate content prohibited by law using the AI translation features (including but not limited to content endangering national security, undermining social stability, or containing obscene, violent, or fraudulent material);
• Use the Service on an account that has not completed real-name verification;
• Engage in conduct that infringes the lawful rights of others, endangers network security, or undermines social stability.

Eligibility: You confirm that, before registering an account for the Service, you possess the civil capacity required under the laws of the People’s Republic of China for your conduct. If you are a minor, you must use the Service under the guardianship, guidance, and consent of a parent or guardian.

Real-name verification: Before using the Service, you must complete real-name verification as required by us and provide true, accurate, and complete identity information. Users who have not completed real-name verification may not use the Service.

Account security: You are fully responsible for the security of your account credentials and password, and must not transfer, lend, or allow others to use your account. You bear any loss resulting from disclosure of your account information or improper handling.

Account name: The account name you set must not violate national laws and regulations, public order, or good morals. We may verify your identity information and may refuse service to users whose identity cannot be verified.

You must pay the applicable service fees on time and in full according to our published pricing. We may adjust pricing as needed for our operations, and the updated pricing will be published on the relevant page.

If your account is suspended or the Service terminated due to your violation, you will no longer be able to use the Service, and we are not obligated to refund fees corresponding to any remaining unused portion of your paid subscription.

To fulfill our platform security responsibilities, our backend systems automatically record and retain key operational logs of your use of the Service, including but not limited to access time, IP address, and operations performed.

Such log data is retained for no less than the statutory period and is only used or disclosed as necessary to provide the Service, in response to lawful requests from government or judicial authorities, or as necessary to protect our lawful rights or those of third parties.

To complete the translation service, we forward the text content you submit for translation to the third-party model providers we select; such providers process the content strictly under our instructions. See our Privacy Policy for details on how this data is collected and used.

The Service may include links to or integrations with third-party products or services (such as browser extension store download channels) that you choose to use on your own. Disputes arising from such third-party products or services are the responsibility of that third party, and we bear no liability for them.

The situation differs for third-party model providers that we select and proxy in order to provide you with translation services: these providers form part of how we fulfill the translation service, and we remain responsible to you for the compliance and availability of the translation service. Our liability for losses caused by such a provider’s own issues (such as inaccurate model output or service interruption) is limited to the scope set out in Section 15, ‘Limitation of Liability’, of this agreement.

When using third-party services, please comply with the user agreements, privacy policies, and other legal terms published by that third party.

The Service, including all software, algorithms, designs, interfaces, text, graphics, logos, and documentation, is owned by Yunnan Quiiu Technology Co., Ltd. and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This agreement does not grant you any ownership interest in the Service.

You retain ownership of the content you process through the Service. Using the Service constitutes a grant to us of a limited, non-exclusive license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You must have lawful rights to any content you submit through the Service and must ensure it does not infringe the intellectual property or other lawful rights of any third party.

You are solely responsible for all conduct and consequences arising from your use of the Service.

If your conduct violates this agreement or applicable laws, we may require you to correct the improper conduct, take necessary measures to mitigate its impact, and immediately suspend or terminate part or all of the Service provided to you.

You are fully liable for any loss caused to us or any third party by your conduct.

This agreement takes effect when you begin using the Service and remains in effect until terminated. If you violate any term of this agreement, we may immediately suspend or terminate your license.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately and you must stop using it. Provisions relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.

The Service is provided ‘as is’ without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

Translation output is generated by third-party AI models. We make reasonable efforts to select reliable providers, but we do not make any absolute guarantee regarding the accuracy or completeness of translation output, and you should exercise your own judgment on whether the output is fit for your intended use.

We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations under this agreement due to force majeure events beyond our reasonable control (such as natural disasters, government actions, or cyberattacks).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yunnan Quiiu Technology Co., Ltd. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you (whether based on contract, tort, or otherwise) will not exceed the total fees you paid for the Service in the preceding twelve months.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (excluding its conflict-of-law rules).

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to this agreement or the Service shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may file a lawsuit with a court of competent jurisdiction at our place of business.

We may modify this agreement at any time. The updated agreement will be published on the relevant page along with its latest update date.

Continuing to use the Service after a change constitutes your acceptance of the revised agreement. If you do not agree to the revised agreement, please stop using the Service immediately.

You must not export or re-export the Service to any country or region subject to sanctions under Chinese or other applicable law, or to any entity or individual prohibited from receiving such services.

If any provision of this agreement is held invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part for any reason, the remaining provisions remain valid and binding.

Section headings in this agreement are for convenience only and have no substantive meaning; they must not be used to interpret this agreement.
